Do you enjoy cozying up with a great book in the fall and winter months? Or maybe you are looking for a fun and easy craft idea to get the kids and teachers in your life excited to pick up those books and start the new school year with classes back in session. Today, I used a personal picture and NuFun Activities Shrink with Ink to create a fun and personalized bookmark, great for gift giving or keeping for yourself to enjoy! See the step by step how-to below:
Step One: Preheat your oven to 450 degrees Fahrenheit
Step Two: Find the picture or image that you want to make into a bookmark. You can also draw or write directly on your Shrink with Ink paper. For best results, use colored pencils if you will be drawing.
Step Three: If you are printing an image from the computer, reduce the opacity/transparency of your image to about 75% – colors will intensify when the image shrinks.
Step Four: Print your image using the correct printer settings outlined in the instruction sheet. Then, using either a circuit or a scissors, remove any excess areas that you do not want to be apart of your bookmark.
Step Five: Using a one-hole punch, punch a hole where you would like the string of the bookmark to be.
Step Six: Place your Shrink with Ink image or drawing in the preheated oven. For best results, preheat the baking sheet that you will be using and place your image face side down on a piece of parchment paper. Bake for a full two minutes and then remove from the oven.
Step Seven: After bookmark has cooled, using ribbon or string of your choice, use the hole punch and string the ribbon through.
